Position Summary:

Bromwich+Smith is currently seeking a Proof of Claim (POC) Specialist to join our Insolvency Administration Team. The POC Specialist is a unique role dedicated to the processing of incoming Proofs of Claim. This individual investigates, analyzes and resolves presented claims in a proactive manner utilizing established department procedures, best practices, and legislative requirements. The POC Specialist has an impact on affected accounts and other functional areas. Interaction with Creditors and external stakeholders is required frequently to carry out the duties of this role. 

As a Proof of Claim Specialist with Bromwich+Smith you will own the following:

+ Analyze Proofs of Claim from creditors;
+ Identify, diagnose and recommend solutions within the context of the rules;
+ Document and process the Proofs of Claim in accordance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act;
+ Processes Proofs of Claim within specific periods as required per the applicable insolvency proceeding type;
+ Handle general administration services on a day-to-day basis.

Knowledge & Skills:

+    You hold a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent;
+    You have at least 2 years of experience in a financial service/regulated environment i.e. Banking. Credit Union, Insurance;
+    You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel;
+    You speak and write English fluently;
+    You have demonstrated ability to handle a large workload with sensitivity to strict time frames.

Nice To Have:

       + Insolvency experience would be considered an asset;
+ Working knowledge of Insolvency software;
+ Completion of Insolvency Administrator Course would be considered an asset.
