Position Summary:

Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Business Partner is responsible for providing HR services to a designated client group balancing the needs of the employee with the business requirements. The HR Business Partner provides the client group with day-to-day counsel and administrative support in the areas of recruiting, onboarding, employee development, performance management, compensation administration, employee engagement action planning, employee performance issues, terminations, and HR administration. As a member of the HR Team, the HR Business Partner works closely with Managers to provide HR services and leadership to help Bromwich+Smith build, develop and retain organizational capability.

As a Human Resources Business Partner with Bromwich+Smith you will own the following:

HR Generalist Responsibilities

+  Coach managers and employees pertaining to effective leadership, employee engagement and retention, employee relations, disability management and conflict resolution.
+  Provide guidance related to established policies, programs, and procedures such as performance management and employee discipline, termination and harassment concerns, total compensation, succession planning, career planning, occupational health, safety, and wellness.
+  Provide advice with respect to government regulatory requirements within the workplace, requiring current knowledge of employment law.
+  Act as first point of contact for Managers on all aspects of people management issues.
+  Engage with the client group to define training and development needs and requirements.
+  Support the implementation of HR initiatives for his/her client group.
+  Initiate HR transactions in a timely manner and ensures accuracy in reporting.

Recruitment and Selection

+  Assist Department Managers in developing effective recruitment strategies for his/her group.
+  Manage full cycle recruitment for given business unit, from initiation of the recruitment process, updating Role Profiles, posting positions, screening, interviewing, and making offers.
+  Ensure successful onboarding of all new employees in their business unit.
+  Provide training to front line Managers on Recruitment and Selection of applicants

Employee Engagement

+  Provide reporting and analysis of engagement metrics and departmental action plans for improvement.
+  Provide training to Managers on Employee Engagement and provides support for programming
+  Support engagement through the role of HR BP.

HR Administration

+  Work with HR team to ensure timely and accurate personnel file maintenance.
+  Coordinate HR transactions for client groups with payroll.

Knowledge & Skills:

+  You hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or post-secondary education at college or university level, with a focus on Human Resources.
+  You have at least 5 years of experience in the field of Human Resources, ideally in an HR Generalist/Advisor role.
+  You hold the CPHR designation or actively working towards obtaining it.
+  You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
+  You have a strong business acumen along with outstanding coaching, consulting, and analytical skills.
