Position: Banking Specialist
Location: Calgary, AB
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Position Summary:
Bromwich+Smith is currently seeking a Banking Specialist to join our Insolvency Administration Team. The Banking Specialist simultaneously focuses on assisting the client with setting up and maintaining the payments into their estate in a compassionate, understanding manner while monitoring the trust accounts and ensuring they are balanced and compliant.
As a Banking Specialist with Bromwich+Smith, you will own the following:
+ Set up trust accounts with BMO and in IPS;
+ Do daily deposits i.e. online payments, pre-authorized payments, post-dated cheques and cash;
+ Reconcile all trust accounts on a monthly basis, including follow-up on all variances, discrepancies, review comments, etc.;
+ Facilitates accounting for all trust accounts including receipts, disbursements and manual journal entries;
+ Verifies the received invoices and prints cheques, facilitates meetings with Trustees to sign cheques;
+ Follows due diligence i.e. verifies all information in compliance to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) including the banking directive;
+ Have overall responsibility for all trust accounting, treasury oversight and financial reporting to corporate.
Knowledge & Skills:
+ You have a post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance;
+ You have at least 3 years of experience in a bank or a financial/accounting environment;
+ You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite.
Nice To Have:
+ Insolvency experience would be considered an asset.
+ Working knowledge of Insolvency software.
