BIA Insolvency Counselor
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Type – Part Time, Contract
Bromwich+Smith has an opening for a part-time, contract, BIA Insolvency Counselor. In this position, the successful candidate will meet with clients to provide financial counseling to assist in the rehabilitation of a clients’ finances in accordance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA). Counseling sessions may be offered in person, in groups and/or via video conference. The successful candidate will participate in setting his/her own schedule..
+ You are a recognized as a qualified BIA Insolvency Counselor.
+ You have a post-secondary diploma and 2 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ You show empathy, are an active listener and have an excellent command of the English language both oral and written.
+ You have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite along with a strong aptitude for learning new computer programs.
+ You have working knowledge and experience in Insolvency software.
+ You are able to work flexible hours in accordance with the business need
+ You have superior organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks.
+ You relate well to people at all levels and all walks of life.
+ You are skilled at diffusing emotionally challenging conversations.
+ You can handle a challenging work load.
+ You are self-directed.
