Position: Training + Development Specialist

Location: Calgary, AB

Type: Permanent, Full-time

Position Summary:

Bromwich+Smith is currently seeking a Training + Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team. The Training + Development Specialist concentrates on planning, developing, implementing, and delivering a variety of training and development programs for Bromwich+Smith. The Training + Development Specialist facilitates the onboarding of all Bromwich+Smith employees. In addition, the Training + Development Specialist also contributes as a key member of the Human Resources department to research and implement best practices for ongoing training in employee excellence.

Key Accountabilities include:

§  Content Development

+   Assesses training, development and maintenance needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, Team Leads and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s);
+     Creates organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees;
+    Organizes, develops and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials such as handouts and visual aids;
+    Designs and develop training and development programs based on both the organization's and the individual's needs;

§  Training and Delivery

+    Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos;
+    Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development;
+    Coordinates outside resources as they relate to business/training needs;
+    Functions as a central communication point for training with all departments;

§  Training Administration

+    Maintains and communicates the onboarding calendar to all stakeholders;
+    Maintains a skills database, records of training and development activities, statutory training requirements, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements;
+    Prepares reports and metrics.

Knowledge & Skills:

+    You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or related field;
+    You have at least 3 years of Training and Development experience, preference given to a candidate with experience designing and delivering learning for financial organizations.
+    Ideally you are a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP);
+    Holding the CPHR designation is an asset;
+    You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
+    You have demonstrated ability to handle a large workload with sensitivity to strict time frames.

+    You can travel to different locations within Canada to facilitate training classes.
