Position Summary and Key Accountabilities:
Bromwich+Smith is currently seeking a dynamic PR and Communications Specialist. Working out of our Corporate Head office in Calgary and reporting to the Manager of Marketing, the PR and Communications Specialist will play a key role in supporting the team with creating and maintaining the public image of Bromwich+Smith as well as fostering effective efficient internal communications.
Key Accountabilities include:
+ Enhance the company's voice and presence through online and offline channels with earned, owned and paid media.
+ Lead the planning and hands-on delivery of communications and media relations to build brand reputation as a trusted advisor for Canadians suffering from overwhelming debt
+ Develop and nurture key PR media relationships to ensure Bromwich + Smith is regularly utilized as a trusted advisor and expert in our vertical.
+ Build and secure new and existing relationships to build share of voice in the personal finance industry.
+ Lead and guide content planning and share innovative solutions and story ideas.
+ Lead survey initiatives and analyze public opinion in support of PR objectives.
+ Write and review press releases, speeches, blogs and other PR copy
+ First point of contact and lead spokesperson for media queries.
+ Provide advice and resources to organization staff appointed to interact with media.
+ Facilitate the resolution of disputes with the public or external vendors
+ Support the firm by presenting communications strategies including investor reports, industry and government relations, and crisis communications.
+ Support in the creation of the annual report, quarterly report, quarterly employee meetings.
+ Build tools and materials to support internal and change management communications
Knowledge & Skills
+ Post-secondary degree/diploma in PR, communications, journalism or relevant field.
+ At least 5 years of experience as a senior communications advisor, media relations specialist or similar position.
+ Experience in in project management and execution of PR campaigns and/or initiatives.
+ Experience in copywriting and editing.
+ Experience in creating and executing measurable communications strategies.
+ Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of photo and video-editing software is an asset.
+ Experience working with social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook etc.).
+ Aptitude in presentation and public speaking.
+ Proficiency in both verbal and written English.
+ Creative and resourceful mindset.
+ Entrepreneurial spirit and a self-starter.
