Position: IT Support Specialist
Location: Calgary, AB
Type: Permanent, Full time (with remote start)
Working hours: Tuesday to Thursday: 12:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Friday and Saturday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for an IT Support Specialist who will play a key role in supporting I.T. end-user support for 120+ employees. Reporting to the I.T. Manager, one of the primary responsibilities of the IT Support Specialist is to improve technology within the organization and to enhance the end user experience for both in-house and remote employees. The IT Support Specialist performs service desk functions and daily functional tasks, including upgrading and configurations of computer systems and license tracking. The IT Support Specialist will work closely with the I.T. Manager and other members of the I.T. team.
This role is multi-faceted requiring broad technical experience and a passion to provide exemplary end-user support. This role requires less than 20% of travel time.
The IT Support Specialist will be able to participate in the rotational after-hours on-call duties in accordance with the business needs.
Specific Duties + Responsibilities
+ Respond to end user requests via tickets, phone or email to diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring issues associated with software and operating systems;
+ Responsible for asset management including allocation/installation of hardware, inventory control, disposal of equipment and security of maintained systems;
+ Provide Office 365, telephony, intranet, SaaS administration and support;
+ Develop new desktop administration and support solutions that incorporate industry best practices;
+ Correctly categorize and respond to outages as outlined in the incident management plan;
+ Participate in and respond to on-call/after-hour support duties as required;
+ Analyze and make recommendations for new hardware and software standardization(s).
+ Responsible for basic server support including Windows updates/server rebooting, print server maintenance;
+ Responsible for application of account, file and remote access controls;
+ Responsible for intranet services configuration and support;
+ Monitor network IP address management, connectivity, firewall, and switch management;
+ Provide in special I.T. projects/reporting as required.
Required Knowledge and Skills
+ You hold a post-secondary diploma/degree in computer science or related field;
+ You have at least two (2) years of mid-level I.T. experience through a diverse range of technologies;
+ Experience installing and supporting Windows 10 operating system;
+ Experience supporting Office365 environments;
+ You possess strong teamwork skills;

The Location: This position based out of our new office in downtown Calgary, we are just steps from the beautiful Bow River and 2 blocks from Calgary’s c-train.
